Have you Heard the Buzz about Google +1?
Sure enough, Google is jumping on the Social Networking bandwagon and adding a “like” button type feature. We knew it was only a matter of time, and now here they are joining the social buzz and making search a more social experience for users. It’s the first time that Google has added a direct social signal into their search results.

Starting last week, Google is allowing users to vote on search results they find useful and then to share those with their Google network. When signed into your Google account and using your Google profile, you will be able to see what you have given a +1 and what your friends have liked as well. It’s a great way for friends to recommend that fabulous beach hotel they stayed in last summer or the French restaurant that gave them the best service they’d ever had.
Currently, the +1 feature is seen in search ads and Google search results. Eventually, you will start seeing the plus one on sites all across the web. Another feature is that users do have the option to keep their plus ones private as their own way to manage their ever growing favorite spots on the web, or to make it public to recommend their favorites to others. The sites a user adds to their +1 list will appear under the new plus one tab on the users Google profile.

When you search for something on Google, the options are often overwhelming and it’s easy to get lost among the results. Google’s new plus one encourages users to help take the guesswork out of search and highlight the places that are liked by others. We’ll see if Google’s leap into the Social Networking world becomes as much a powerhouse as Google search.
