Google improperly displaying title tags

Posted by Troy Perkins on 29 August 2008

Okay fellow SEOers, is anyone else seeing this?

I have a clients index page which has not been updated in months from a code perspective.  This morning while viewing their listing within the SERPS on Google, Google is displaying their old title tag which they had over 7 months ago.

What is going on?

UPDATE:  Okay, 3 days later title tags have returned to normal (meaning they are listed in SERPS as they are today).  Still very strange.  I am very curious as to why this would happen.
