Google Pay Per Action Service vs. Commission Junction, Azoogle and Modern Click
There are many affiliate networks in the market today like Google, Azoogle, Commission Junction and Modern Click. But which one should get the vote as the best affiliate network is a question worth debating. Some that do get maximum cheers offer:
1. individual attention from the representatives
2. swift messenger access with the representatives
3. more rewards if one’s performance on an affiliate is really commendable
But how does the new Google Pay Per Action service compare with traditional affiliates networks like CJ, Azoogle and Modern Click?
While CJ operates more as a retail channel by paying one for sales of products, Azoogle being more of a PPA dispenses with offers as payment for the action undertaken rather than the sales of products or services. For instance a general rather than a niche traffic to a site can enable one to mint money through Azoogle since the clientele gets a lot of freebies in exchange for purchasing nothing.
Google is the latest entrant into the domain of affiliate marketing with a motive to simplify marketing enough for the common man to comprehend. Since their success with Blogging, Google has been contemplating on this move as a challenge to the existent traditional affiliate nateworks.
Using this service Google plans to enable sale of any product or service through an affiliate program run by them. All financial transactions, card processing, software and analysis will be courtesy Google and a percentage of all transactions will be pocketed by Google. The best and highest yielding ads will be showcased on Google Adsense and this will be dictated by their huge user database that will check products sold by a site, the way it converts etc. In the novel Pay Per Action service, Google plans to charge the advertiser a fraction of the PPA and will resort to furthering the distribution through its adsense network. While it is quite a late entrant into the affiliate marketing domain, Google may eventually rise to the top if they play their cards right.
In terms of competing with affiliate networks such as cj.com, azoogle, modern click etc there may be some weaknesses in the way Google runs its show. The latter predominantly allow the advertisers the upper hand in terms of control and relationships with the affiliates which has a direct bearing on both the advertiser and the affiliate’s performances. These affiliates often wrest control of the creative aspects as well as domains of graphics, design and promos to be displayed which may not be what Google wants to hand over full fledgedly right away. What will attract advertisers will mainly be performance and bigger cashouts as given by most PPA networks. So though Google will have the backing of a strong distribution network it will sorely lack an optimization blueprint & a wizened affiliate base. And though Google’s novel PPA network will offer advertisers protection from click scams, it will be one more channel worth trying out and yet another garnish to the internet marketing melting pot.
